Tom Fitzgerald
I’ve spent my career helping businesses make sense of complexity — and I’ve learned that most leaders aren’t looking for impressive spreadsheets. They’re looking for clarity, a sounding board, and someone who can bring calm when everything feels busy or uncertain.
I’ve worked across finance, strategy and operations in organisations of all sizes, from Start-ups to SMEs to Private Equity backed and Listed groups. What I enjoy most is partnering closely with the business — getting to know how they think, what they’re building, and what keeps them up at night.
Cotidal was created I saw a pattern of brilliant businesses reaching important moments of growth or change, but without the senior support or bandwidth to move forward confidently. They didn’t need a full-time CFO… they needed someone experienced to come in, steady things, create clarity, and help them make good decisions.
My approach is calm, pragmatic and hands-on. I get involved quickly, understand what’s really going on beneath the surface, and help shape a path forward. I’m comfortable in the detail, but I also enjoy stepping back and testing assumptions, helping leaders think more clearly about what comes next.
Outside of work, I’m a dad, a partner, and someone who values time outdoors — particularly anywhere near water. Maybe that’s why Cotidal felt like the right name: collaboration that flows with the tides of the business.
